The Campiña Sur de Extremadura (Southern countryside of Extremadura) is located in the South-West of Extremadura, in the triangle formed by Mérida, Cordoba and Seville. In the south we can find the steep slopes of Sierra Morena; to the North, the soft gradients of the Sierra de Argallanes (Mountain Chain) and in the centre, the extensive plains that give name to our region, spectacular for hiking.
Due to its location, the Southern countryside of Extremadura has a fine variety of landscape, along with a huge variety of species that also have their place here. Huge plains affected by slight terrain undulations provide a scenery of horizon of oaks, cork trees and arable land where grain is grown, along with olives and vines.
The pasture is visited by large flocks of cranes from autumn through spring, hunting birds also abound.
The many civilizations that have passed through this land have left their legacy in the form of dolmens, Roman bridges, Arab traces, Moorish and Gothic churches and manor houses, like the one hosting our hotel.
